29th December A quick Christmas catch up
So that's Christmas over for the secular world, little realising that today is actually day five of Christmas with another week or so of the seasons still to go. But with the Christmas services all done, dusted, delivered and dispached until next year, it has ben an opportunity to 'just breathe'
They went okay, judging by the reviews on Trip Advisor, but there are oly so many ways to re tell a familiar story. Unless of course you, or perhps that should be 'ewe' chose to dress up as a sheep to deliver one of your mesages.
Present still remain unopened at TOM's....don't ask!!!. TV was the usual bag of setive s%$£e with repeats of repeats even appearing on the same day. Food was good and the drinks flowed in abundance. The Totley Two Doves Boxing day run was undertaken under a cloudless sky which was fabulous ( as always) and made even better by the fact that I 'crushed' my long time running rival Elizabeth by 2 whole minutes.
Today has been a day of decluttering and getting rid of sooooo much rubbish that I am convinced the bin men must think there is a family of five lving here. Hopefully if I carry on at ths rate by the time I move in August, Marie Kondo, the professional Japaneses declutterer will be proud of me.
I also managed to squeeze in buying a picture frame for my print of Harry Baker's 'Sunflowers' that I picked up from his show earlier ths month. So that will be all ready to be put up in a prominent position in the new manse.
I for one am glad that all the kerfuffle is over, a kerfuffle which seemed to start in September. But just so we all manage to keep nicely out of step with the actual seasons of the year it's good to see that Easter Eggs (and Easter Sunday in 2026 is 5th April) are aleady out in the shops.
