16th November Just what am I watching?
- First there were programmes about singing. Then came dancing, dancing on ice, cooking and baking. Next in line were shows where people demonstated a wide variety of talents or none talents in many cases.
Cooking shows with professionals, non professionals and celebrities actually made celebrities of cooks from across the country. And then we had the inuendo laden baking shows with references to soggy bottoms which we all laughed at until suddenly we were told that some of those references were in fact higly inappropriate, which made us all wonder why we had laughed in the first place
arriving like a bolt of cloth from the blue was a show that wasn't just eye raising but hem raising too as Claudia Winkelman, Joe Lycett, Sarah Pascoe and now Kiell Smith Bynoe have taught us the importance of sowing.
Now however I think we have reached the very nadir of TV's desire to make somethign that is a function of life but not really all that intersting, interesting. Welcome to Tom Daly, dressed like Julius Caesar going to a Pride march and the world of 'Woolly W*&%$^s'. One that hasn't been too well received in the Shetlands by all accounts judging by the attempted pulling of wool over people's eyes.
If this is what my license fee is going towards I think I'd rather pay it to Prsident Trump.
