21st October Can't see the wood for the trees

At the moment I am unable to see the wood for the trees. Or to be more specific all that seems to be jumping out from the 5 profiles I have managed to select from the now almost 90 on offer are the things I cannot do, have little experience in, or don't really want to get engaged with, rather than all the things I know I am good at. And remember I only have 5 to look at.

Now I know that churches all try to promote not just what they do (or claim to do) but also list all their hopes, dreams and aspiration, whether they are capable of achieving them or not. And off course churches will be looking at the profiles of ministers who all appear to be better than Jesus. But all of this is proving to be unsettling.

I don't think my two ministerial friends, Pete and Peter, are fairing any better and both of those are happy to take on a superintendents role, something I refuse to do, and so have even more possible matches to look at.

I just need to know where I have been invited and then I can focus on that one place in the hope that there has been soem divine influence on where I might possibly end up for my last 5 years of ministry. A big lottery win on Saturday not withstanding.
