31st March The best day of the year
If you asked most people to pin point what has been the best day of the year, many would struggle to offer an answer. I can narrow in down quite easily. In 2001 it was 26th March, in 2009 it was 30th March, in 2016 it was the 28th March and in 2019 it was 1st April. This year it has been today, the 31st March.
And I know you are trying to work out what momumental event reoccured in my life on those dates to make it the best day of the year. So I'll put you all our of your misery. It's simply the day after the clocks go forward and I am able to enjoy that extra hour of daylight on the first working day after we have all sprung into spring.
Do I mind losing an hour in bed. Nope. Do I mind that it's a little bit darker in the morning. Not in the slightest. Do I 'love' the fact that I can do 'something' in the light after I have finished work. You bet your bottom dollar I do.
And so tonight at 6pm I celebrated by 'enjoying' a lovely 6 mile jolly, almost running with a literal spring in my step, across the fields and through the woods on my own in beautiful sunshine. Hey I even finished before it started to get dark And if that isn't the best day of the year I don't know what is
