22nd February It's the final countdown (Caribbean 15)

Only of course it wasn't the end was it, because today was the day we flew home. But, and here it comes, we only flew at 6.45pm that night on the last plane back to UK but we had to be out of our cabin in order for them to be got ready for incoming guests by 8am in the morning. So it has the potential to be a long, long day

We had already had our main luggage head for the airport at 6pm last night so had to make do with whetever we could put in our hand luggage. The plan was simple, stay on the ship and simple move around our favourite venues on board spending about an hour in each. So it was a late breakfast in the buffet, off to the sunset lounge, the Java cafe, and then the atrium before a last supper back in the Horizon buffet.

We also made a spontaneous spash of the cash to book our next trip. As mentioned earlier the on board sales team were offering some ridiculous offers  and so after a bit of pondering and thinking about various dates when I would need to be in the UK we have plumped for a 14 day cruise on Aurora, one of P&O's smaller ship to the Norwegian fjords for 2026.

Neither of us have been there, were both excited about the trip / itinerary and delighted to discover the pirce plus £800 on board credit compared to the £500 we had on this trip which we just about managed to get through. But with the insider knowledge that trips / excursions are the way to go I don't think we'll have any trouble making a large dent in it.

By the time we left the ship at 4pm the day had passed reasonably quickly and the flight home went smoothly with a couple of films a meal and a nod throw in for good measure. Touching down at Manchester a little after 6am I was physically back here in the manse by 11.30am although my head was still somewhere on Grand Anse beack in Grenada.

Would I we go back to the Caribbean again, yes definitely only next time we would be much better prepared with regards booking excursions from the ports we arrived in. Lesson learned.
