20th February Running away to join the circus (Caribbean 13)
Today has been our final sea day and we have now reached the stage where we cannot remember where we are, what we have seen or even what day of the week it is. We are now simply driven by the most basis of instincts ie is it time to eat, and let me confirm that on a cruise ship its always time to eat.
Still unable to sleep past 7am by the time we went for breakfast a little after 7am the ship was like the Marie Celeste. But we soon discovered that they was because everyone was already up on the sun decks reserving the unresolvable sunbeds
The ship has that end of holiday approaching feel to it. We had a wander round the upper decks, dropped of the books that we have read in the library, had our temptation buttons firmly pressed by some of the ‘book your future cruise now’ offers that were being promoted.
Our next door neighbours had had a champagne breakfast and there was so much food left over they were trying to palm some of it off to us; unfortunately we had already eater. The afternoon vanished in a snooze of great splendour.
Our last dinner with Ann and PEter, how they must wish that they hadn’t commented / complained about one of their dishes earlier in the week as the two waitresses have since that moment been over zealous in asking them how their food has been since that moment. As tomorrow is the end of the cruise for some , it was a chance to say a thank you to the head chefs, head waiters and all the people attending our tables as they danced their way round the restaurant.
Then our last theatre show of the trip; Mr Tickerton’s Clockwork Circus which had so much going on in it, including a selection of songs from The Greatest Showman, that we actually went back to the 10.15 show to see it again. A really, really late night for us meant we only got back to our room at 11.20pm, just as some folks were no doubt leaving to the Live Lounge to dance the night away.
