21st June All at sea (again)

Today is another day at sea as we head out across the Mediterranean towards the Croatian coast. And as such its been quite funny watching the newbies struggling to find their way round the ship just like we did only 7 days ago. It's amazing just how much you pick up after just a week on board although we are still discovering new places and things to do.

There are a few more children around this week, possibly as some schools might already have shut for summer, or the kids have been expelled. And maybe it's me being a bit judgemental, but those who have got on board yesterday look as if they have been dressed more by Primark than Prada.

There are lots of things / activities that one can join in with onboard; craft classes, dancing lessons (no we didn't) quizes, various sedate sporting events like deck qoits (I'm not at that stage yet) Today we went along to listen to a talk on the two biggest / newest ships in the P&O fleet, Arvia and Iona, both of which had many features to admire but also had several features including a 10 room bar that just left us bewildered.

They were certainly all singing all dancing and they might be worth exploring for our 'next' adventure especially as one of the trips they were promoting came with £620 on board credit per cabin. We are currently struggling to spend £300 on a 15 night cruise and that includes two of the speciality dining experiences!!!

Later on we read for a bit, slept for a bit and then put on our glad rags again as it was another Celebration Night during which we visited another of the speciality dining options, this time the Indian themed Sindhu.

The food was good but perhaps not the gastronomic treat that the on line videos had suggested it would be, certainly not as good as the Beach House steaks. But that didn't stop Wallace and Gromit wandering by twice in the hope of getting a reservation (I kid you not)

Another great show in the Playhouse featuring the in house Headliners theatre group, this time supplemented live by the Azura Orchestra, and we rounded off our day at sea, dressed to kill with a glass of something smooth and satisfying in what was a bustling Planet Bar jam packed with tuxes and tiaras.
