11th June Sleeping for England

So last weekend TOM was just about to be released from a short stay in hospital. Thankfully he has made a good recocery or is at least back to his usual grumpy irritable self so I suppose thats progress. still no nearer finding out what the issue was.

This wekend has been a bit up and down but for different reasons. We hit the red carpet again this time down in Derby (one of my favourite little theatres) to see Around the World in 80 Days, which was good but simply paled in comparison with The Ocean at the End of the Lane, which I had seen a few days earlier. But TOM enjoyed it and didnt seem to struggle too much during the trip so that was a win.

Early Saturday I went running, a route I have done three of four times in the past couple of months, mainly as it means I can meet TOM as he was delivering a morning paper to one of his friends in town. The encouraging news is that that this week was the fastest I had every covered that paricular route just short of 4 miles. Even if it did mean I slept for almost 4 hours that afternoon. Whether it was the run, the catch up from the previous weekend or the scorching temperatues outside I slept the sleep of the dead.

In between my Olympic gold medal winning run and my Olympic gold mdal winning nap, we went to the open day for a new development of apartments next to Matlock Town's football ground. Went with no intention of buying but simply to see what £250-500,000 got you thse days. The answer is a nice view but not a great deal else unless you did actually have the desire to spend half a million pound to live in Matlock, which lets be honest, who would?

Even the larger rooms and patio outdoor space didn't really make it value for money, still it was nice to go and see what all the fuss had been about, which at the end of the day, wasn't a great deal.
