20th February Liz is DAFTA's a brush

Whilst All Quiet on the Western Front was scooping a fistful of awards at last nights British Academy of Film and Television Arts show, a much more prestigious prize was being claimed by Liz Truss at the DAFTA's.

With a running time of 44 days, which many critics have commented was 44 days to long, 'My Time in Office' written, directed, produced and starring Ms Truss swept the board picking up every single award on offer.

BBC arts correspondent Will Gompertz spoke in an exclusive interview with Grace Under Pressure's very own matinee idol when he revealed, "It's because it has such broad appeal across the board that patrons of the DAFTA'S found it impossible to stop awarding it the top prizes."

"Even the great directors such as Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrik and Judd Apatow haven't managing to capture on celluloid something thats comes across as a fly on the wall documentary disaster movie that had comedy, tragedy, farce, fiction, fact, high drama, and was utterly terrifying and yet at the same time induced howls of belly laughter."

"In one scene Ms Truss could be seen promising the moon on a stick and then in the very next shot her plans going up in flames like a political Hindeburg zeppelin. It was pure genius, slapstick not seen since Charlie Cahaplin at his finest. And then to contrast the growth she dreamed about with the ecomonic crash that happened when she woke up, another masterstroke."

"As for the best plot twist since The Sixth Sense' one that noone saw coming when she fired the man who had simply done what she told him to do. Filmed and aired to the great British public in real time, this was fantasy fact and fiction all intervoven in a way we have not seen and never want to see again."

At the time of going to press Grace Under Pressure can confirm quite catagorically that the option to commission 'Liz Trus: My time in Office' for a second season is one that will not be sanction. Unlike Ms Truss who quite possible should have been sectioned. Just thank God she wasn't in charge during Covid.
