Reading TOM's copy of the TV guide from the Daily Mail on Saturday I discovered that today is Celebration Day'. Held annually on the last bank holiday Monday in May, Celebration Day provides a dedicated opportunity to honour and celebrate the lasting impact of those who have inspired and shaped us, whether through personal connections, history, or culture, and whose influence continues long after they’ve died. A new occasion, apparently this is only its third year, but in the midst of all the humdrum and days to 'commemorate' everything under the sun I thought this was a good one to explore and to reflect and celebrate somone who has had a transformative effect on my life. It's interesting how once I take work out of the equation my communication with the outside world drops dramatically. Normally when i switch on the computer in the morning there are a whole host of things clamouring for my attention. Now having started my sabbatical there are no e mails, no phone calls, no meetings to think about, no services to write, nothing to plan, nothing to organise. Part of it is lovely and part of it is quite boring at the same same. Well nothing to organise apart from the upcoming trip which appears to be getting more complicated by the minute. But more of that in a few days when I shall switch over to a new blog dedicated to that particular adventure

In breaking news, following their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League last night Manchester United's Marketing Department have been quick to look for a positive spin on the result. As such they are bringing out a new range of bras that will have all the support with no cups.
