31st October What a lovely surprise
Sometimes you stumble across a song that for an unexplicable reason you had forgotten all about. And yet upon its rediscovery, you simply cannot stop playing it. Welcome to my world yesterday when I reaquainted myself with the utterly sublime 'Somewhere North of here by Jones (Trevor Jones), front man and one half of the wonderful Miracle Mile. And so it was that as I drove across it Calverton yesterday afternoon, this track emerged from my car stereo. And for the length of the entire journey there and back, it was all I listened too on repeat. Over and over again. It is just one of those songs that builds slowly to a sublime climax as the drums kick in slowly and the steel guitar weaves its intricate paterns in the background. The second surprise is that for the past few weeks this blog site has not allowed me to upload any video clips; not allowed me until now.
